Christmas Poem for Love Only Grows
Christmas Eve-Eve Concert + Poetry Reading December 23, 2025 @ 7:30 p.m. CST The Gift of Christ A mother in the heart of prayer Quietly waiting For the unfoldment of joyful travail The arrival of a newborn child, The dawn of Immanuel. Even the fulness of the Christ child Born in the meekness of the night Proves that something Far more than matter Shines resplendent and bright. A mother’s affection cannot be weaned …even when nailed to a cross Despite her deepest fears Neither his body nor his mission Could be lost. From the humble stable of innocence The Messiah reigns forevermore. In every place and in every way, Christ’s love settles every score. It comforts those who grieve, Untangles each scornful snare. Then sparrows of hope fly upward Uniting all in sweet, sacred prayer. Spirit-Father Sovereign strengthen us With your substance, life, and Soul. Mother Love of new creation make us Christ-like, heavenly, Whole. Oh sweet certainty of Science Shining from above, Bring us a purer understanding, The gift of perfect Love. Life in Christ is newness of Spirit, Eternal, unbounded and vast, that stems the waves of materialism Crashing in vain on a troubled past. Star of Being, shine forever, We are emboldened by your might. Christ beholds what eye cannot see! Immortality and Light. COPYRIGHT 2025 Lindsey A. Roder

In this precious poem we see how the tender mother love, so strong with conviction and understanding brings the Christ to light. What a beautiful gift Lindsey's poem is. Thank you.
